How to protect your phone from damage
Modern devices are multifunctional, expensive and often indecently expensive. Therefore, many of those who decided to buy a mobile phone in an online store or at a regular retail point of sale immediately think about the safety of the device.
The production of accessories that can extend the life of the gadget is an entire industry in which many manufacturers of their manufacturers are involved. A number of accessories designed for a specific model of the device can be implemented by the manufacturer himself, but the vast majority of offers are received from third-party developers offering the widest range.
Previously, the presence of a protective film on the screen was an indispensable condition, especially for devices that are worn without a cover. Without such a film, after a few days the display was covered with scratches, became cloudy, worn and reacted worse to touch. Today, the presence of a protective film (or protective glass) is still relevant, but much already depends on the type of screen glass and how the smartphone is used. Many devices are equipped with manufacturers of durable glass such as Gorilla Glass, which are less prone to damage. Theoretically, film protection is not necessary for such glass, however, the appearance of scratches from ordinary quartz sand is quite justified, due to the high density of the latter.
Universal films are now common, suitable for all devices with the declared diagonal, as well as films intended only for specific models.
woman and smartphone.jpg Safety glass is also designed to protect the smartphone display from mechanical damage and dirt left by the fingers. This accessory has become more in demand than a protective film. Unlike the film, glass is made using a different technology and has great strength, but externally it looks like a very thin and completely transparent plastic overlay. Such protection is attached to the display similarly to ordinary films (on a clean and dry surface). The thickness of this glass is about 0.3 mm, and the hardness is several times higher than that of films. This means that he is not afraid of either the sharp edges of the keys, or scratches from other metal objects that end up with the gadget in a bag or pocket. The oleophobic properties of such glass coatings are also higher than that of the film.
An indisputable advantage of this coating is the protection of the smartphone’s display, in other words, when the gadget falls on a hard surface, the protective glass takes a hit – it can crack and crack, thereby preserving the integrity of the touch screen itself. The display is one of the most expensive parts of any smartphone, its cost can reach up to 40% of the total price of the device, the cost of a protective glass is incomparably less and does not represent a big financial burden when it is destroyed. This is the secret of the popularity of protective glasses – in many cases they save the screen by taking a hit on themselves.
The glass does not distort color reproduction and does not affect the clarity of the picture, the sensitivity of the sensor and the tactile characteristics of smartphones do not change. Like films, such glasses are produced universal or for specific models.
A case is a common accessory for a smartphone. It is used to protect the device, and to wear it, and even to change the design. Moreover, both universal covers, suitable for all models, and “individual” ones, designed only for specific gadgets, are produced. As a rule, online smartphone stores have an impressive selection of covers of various types, each of which has its own characteristics.
They make covers from materials such as:
• Leather (artificial and natural).
As for the form factor of covers, here the assortment is also very extensive:
They are usually made of plastic in different colors and are a cover worn on the back of the smartphone and covering the sides of the device. These covers are best used in conjunction with a protective film or glass.
Less common due to poor protection. Usually made of silicone or rubberized materials, they protect only some places (sides, corners). The original design of the device is not violated. To protect the front and back panels, you will have to use films or glass.
These are perhaps the most reliable cases, which are a protective cover. The smartphone in it is completely closed, the sides and the back panel are rigidly fixed. Book covers open on the side, like standard books, while the front cover of the flip cover folds down. Design and texture can be very different. Some models of these cases are equipped with compartments for credit cards or can be folded like coasters.
