Social networks in a smartphone

Only 10-15 years ago, social networks were something new and unknown, and today they have become so firmly entrenched in our reality that they have become an integral part of it, like cell phones. Social networks are some online platforms for communicating with friends or strangers, allowing you to make virtual acquaintances of common interests, make friends, listen to music and much more. The first social networks were created in the west, including Facebook, Twitter. Gradually, similar online sites began to appear in Russia: VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, Facebook, etc. However, a real surge of social networks began at the moment when smartphones appeared in the majority of the population and the developers came up with adapted applications for them.

To always be able to view the latest news feed, respond to an important online message, it makes sense to use social networks via a smartphone. To do this, you need a stable connection to mobile Internet or Wi-Fi. Of course, you can use social networks through a mobile browser, but it is better to install an adapted application that is optimized for the phone screen. Like most other programs and applications for smartphones on Android, you can install a social network application through GooglePlay, which is accessed through a valid Google account. For each of the social networks, registration is required, indicating the personal data of the user.

According to the data for 2019, the most popular social networks in Russia are VKontakte, Odnoklassniki and Facebook, as well as WhatsApp, Viber, Instagram services.

This Internet site opens up a sea of opportunities for its users, however, like others, but, nevertheless, it is VK that holds the leading position among its own kind in the Russian Federation for 2019. The main attention is paid to personal pages and pages of friends, posts on the friends wall. VK is suitable for searching for music, video, messaging, it is convenient to advertise here.

On average, about 45 million Russians visit Odnoklassniki per month. Classmates are conservative – there are fewer young users, the main age is 30 years and above, and most of all they are interested in family, children, leisure, correspondence with friends.

This is the most famous global network, although Facebook has very modest indicators in Russia: the monthly audience is 14.4 million users.

This system is not positioned as a social network, but is presented as an instant messaging service. At the same time, WhatsApp has achieved tremendous development in Russia and in the world, it has wide convenient opportunities for communication, calls.

This well-known resource was initially positioned as a photo-sharing service, with the ability to comment, at the moment the service is in high demand and quite popular as an advertising platform. Like WhatsApp, Instagram in its purest form does not apply to social networks, however, all these platforms allow you to communicate, interact, receive and send information, which unites them.

Social networks in a smartphone can give their user a lot, for example, act as platforms for communication. With the right approach, they give an impetus to the development of personality, because in addition to communicating with friends, there are numerous groups and communities of interest, which, of course, when correctly selected, provide a lot of useful information.

Recently, hashtags have gained great popularity – the use of keywords and phrases with the “#” symbol for photos and posts, as a result of which “tagged” information becomes available to people with similar interests, the main thing is to include the hashtag in the search and the system will sort such information itself. Each user’s personal profile can be configured, it can be either in the public domain or protected from annoying or uninvited guests – you can completely block access to the page or enable restrictions for users in the form of a ban on private messages, viewing the wall, etc.

The pros and cons of social networks can weigh a lot of time. Their main advantage is the possibility of unhindered communication with people, at any time, which can be anywhere in the world. The dangers of social networks are most evident for minor children and due to the openness of personal information. Not infrequently, networks cause psychological dependence even in adults, taking up a huge part of their life time for often useless communication or viewing questionable content, disperse concentration, impair memory and analytical abilities. It is recommended not to devote more than one hour per day to these resources, choosing in favor of real life.
